The DiStefano Residence is a project located in West Kelowna, which was designed by the owner himself, Mr. Carlo DiStefano of DiStefano Architecture.

The mechanical system includes an air-to-water heat pump which feeds a hot and cold water storage tank. This fluid is then circulated to in-floor radiant heating or fan coils for heating and cooling of the house. The system is designed to accommodate a geoexchange system retrofit at a later date with minimal disruption within the mechanical room. The domestic hot water is pre-heated by the air-source heat pump system.

An extensive snowmelt area is fed from the heat pump with a back-up high efficiency condensing boiler. Snow and ice sensing controls ensure the snowmelt only operates when needed. A heat recovery system provides fresh air to the residence. The controls system consists of Digital Automation with remote web access.
